Congolese Fellowship

Meeting from 2pm-5pm, our Congolese-speaking congregation gathers for a time of prayer, praise, teaching and fellowship. The congregation meets in the Hall near the Napier Street Entrance, and would love to provide you with a warm welcome!

We have Church members from Central-East Africa who meet for fellowship, language education and socially.

Our Congolese Fellowship, known as Christ’s Mission, meets every Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm in the Hall. There is an act of worship, teaching and great fellowship.

The fellowship uses the languages of Swahili and Kinyamulenge. Services are often translated into English, while mainly being presented in Congolese. Please get in touch if you’d like to know more!

Although most attending are Congolese, many have come from refugee camps in Burundi, as well as from Kenya and Rwanda.

The choir occasionally sings during the regular morning service. See the Congolese choir sharing a song during a Sunday morning service.

On this following video, meet Alexis and Brave, members of our Congolese Fellowship, who share their stories of faith in leaving the DRC to a refugee camp in Burundi and then on to Sheffield. Their choir plays a significant part in our life together here at Cemetery Road Baptist Church.

The Fellowship is coordinated by Furaha, Brave, Alexis and Jean-Claude.
